Oxfam Italia (OIT) is an Italian NGO, member of the Oxfam International Confederation involving 20 organisations in a network in more than 90 countries, as part of a global movement for change, to build a future free from the injustice of poverty. Oxfam Italia’s main areas of intervention are: development cooperation and humanitarian aid (focusing on three main thematic programmes: economic justice, gender justice and crisis response), education for active citizenship, policy and advocacy activities (at Italian and EU level on: economic justice, gender justice, humanitarian crisis response, migration).
Oxfam Italia Intercultura (OII) is a social cooperative from Oxfam Italia group with many years of experience in the reception of refugees and asylum seekers, the provision of legal support to vulnerable groups from a gender perspective (management of community centres and legal desk), the training of front line public and private service on topics such as protection and response to violence against women and children from an international perspective, the development and implementation of programmes for social inclusion of women, girls and LGBTQIA+ people living in vulnerable conditions in Italy and in partnership with other organisations in other EU countries. Over the years, OII has developed collaborations in thematic areas related to gender equality, the fight against gender-based violence towards LGBTQIA+ people, with relevant partners at national and European level.
