The project aims to strengthen the effectiveness, accessibility and legitimacy of the LGBTQIA+ Anti-Discrimination Centres lead by Arcigay through structural action on a national scale. The project is divided into two actions: improving the support and referral services for LGBTQIA+ people who have survived gender-based violence, and transforming the social and institutional norms that perpetuate discrimination and gender stereotypes. The planned actions include: participatory action research to map practices in anti-discrimination centres (CAD); the joint drafting of national operational guidelines; a specialist training course for operators; five regional workshops aimed at public stakeholders; and a final national event to disseminate the results and encourage the adoption of the guidelines in institutional contexts. The project adopts an intersectional, transfeminist and trauma-informed approach, with the direct involvement of LGBTQIA+ communities in the co-construction of activities. It also aims to stabilise alliances between CADs and public services (local health authorities, schools, public administration), activating shared protocols and participatory governance tools. CADenti in Rete intends to consolidate a systemic, inclusive and sustainable response to gender-based violence against LGBTQIA+ people in Italy, reaching a large number of direct beneficiaries and offering strong potential for replicability and transferability.
