Project description
Co- applicant: Spazio Sociale Zei APS, Arcigay Foggia Le Bigotte APS. Associated Partners: ANIMU, Sud Est Donne, Gruppo Lavoro Rifugiati Onlus.
The project aims to develop intersectional approaches to combat discrimination suffered by LGBTQIA+ people in Puglia (in particular in the provinces of Bari, Foggia and Lecce) focused on strengthening support and reporting services for those who are survivors or at risk of gender-based violence. The goal is to reach and support groups that are more difficult to reach, including trans people, people with disabilities and migrants, through an integrated approach. The project includes the strengthening of the Anti-Discrimination Centers (CADs) present in the area, focusing on the creation of safe and accessible spaces, such as the “Caffè Safer”. This informal space will be open without the need for an appointment and will allow LGBTQIA+ people to receive support, socialize, and participate in various group and individual activities. The proposal also includes the training of professionals in the sector, such as operators, social workers, psychologists and lawyers, to improve their skills and ability to address intersectional discrimination and ensure an adequate support service. It is also planned to establish a professional supervision service, on a systemic basis, for the team of the CAD ‘Mo. N.Di’. The project also includes the creation of a regional network between CADs, which will connect to the wider national network, for the exchange of good practices, resources and strategies to systematically address discrimination. Through comparison meetings and the drafting of policy documents, the project intends to consolidate collaboration between the various organizations involved, contributing to a synergic and integrated action.
